Towards the end of May 2019, SEERS began the search for a good home for a surplus Paediatric Bed. After a recommendation from a social post, SEERS found Barnstondale.
Barnstondale Activity Centre is a children's charity, based in Wirral, serving the diverse communities of Merseyside and beyond. They offer a safe, supportive and stimulating environment for youngsters from all walks of life, including those with a range of disabilities.
The Meadow Cabin is a purpose-built, fully accessible facility in the centre, where the donated electric profiling bed will be installed.
Heidi Hughes, Barnstondale Business Director is shown with SEERS UK Direct Sales Manager, Darren Corbett.
"Our ability to make our centre as accessible and as inclusive as possible has always been one of our primary aims. People often forget that not everyone can easily sleep in the same type of bed and a profile bed can make a huge difference to the comfort of someone with mobility or sensory issues. This kind donation from SEERS will allow us to accommodate more guests with additional needs and will give them the ability to rest easy while they enjoy their stay at our centre."
The state-of-the-art paediatric bed, valued at between £3000-4000, is a huge investment for a charity or private individual. With welcoming aesthetics and electric profiling, the bed is ideal for a supportive centre such as Barnstondale.
We hope that the bed is of great assistance to Barnstondale and that it helps them accommodate more guests with the high quality specialised equipment that the children need and deserve.
